v1.0 · MADE BY ME, FOR ME

An app
to track
my life.

I built Mirror because I wanted one place to watch my days take shape — moods, notes, goals, the whole mess. Then I started using it every single day. So here it is. Maybe you'll use it too.

001 · why I built it

4 checks.
2 entries.
1 year on my wall.

01 how it started A4 · ink · tape

I printed out a daily tracker. Rows of little checkboxes. Stuck it on the wall above my desk. I was pumped.

By the end of the year: 4 boxes ticked. Entries on exactly 2 days. That paper hung on that wall for 365 days. The most expensive piece of A4 I've ever owned.

Every time I looked at it I felt guilt. It said: you're not perfect.

So I stopped looking. Stopped logging. The tracker meant for honesty turned into a wall of shame. Your brain is a powerful thing — it makes you forget what you said you'd do, then punishes you for forgetting.

It's okay to not be perfect every day.

I wanted to track my life without the guilt. Without a wall of shame. Without an app shouting about a broken streak.

I wanted insight — patterns, what makes me tick, what annoys me, what helps. The stuff you can't spot from inside your own head.

Every other app wanted my email, my cloud, my coaching subscription. And every single one asked for a credit card before I'd even tried it.

So I built Mirror. It runs entirely on my phone. The model lives on my phone. The entries never leave my phone. No streaks. No guilt. Just your life, mirrored back.

002 · what's in the box

Six things.
That's the whole app.

No coaching. No streaks shouting at you. No social feed. Just the parts you actually need to notice your own life.

01 · HEATMAP

A year of you,
at a glance.

Every day is a square. Every square is a mood. After a few weeks you start to see the shape of your own life.

03 · REFLECT

Ask your past anything.

A small language model runs on your phone and reads only your entries. Ask it when you were happiest, what tends to stress you, what you've been avoiding.

04 · ON-DEVICE

Encrypted. On your phone.

Every entry is encrypted at rest with a device-only key. The model downloads once, then the whole app works on a plane, in a tunnel, on the moon.

🔒 AES-256 · LOCAL ONLY
no servers · no syncing · no accounts
05 · QUICK CAPTURE

One tap,
one line.

Tap the +, drop a sentence, pick a mood. Done. The smallest useful journal that still adds up.

003 · how it works

Three steps.
No accounts.

1

Install

Download the Android build. Open it. No sign-up, no welcome carousel.

2

Download the model

One-time, ~2.7 GB (Gemma 3n E2B). Lives on your device forever. Pick the lighter or the higher-quality variant.

3

Write a line

One sentence, one mood, one tap. Come back tomorrow. Watch the year fill in.

004 · the small print

Questions you might be
thinking about.

Honest answers. This is a side project I run alone, so the rules are simple and the roadmap is short.

Is it really fully offline?

Yes. After the one-time model download, nothing leaves your phone. The "reflect" feature runs a small local language model that reads only your own entries.

Is my data encrypted?

Yes — every entry is encrypted at rest with AES-256. Mirror never sees your data because there is no server. Lose the phone, lose the entries — nobody else can read them, not even me.

Does anything leave the device?

Only anonymous diagnostics — crash reports, device model, and basic UI events that help me track down performance issues. No personal info and none of your entries ever leave the device.

What does it cost?

The app is free, and free users can use reflect a set number of times each month. Want unlimited reflect? It's a one-time payment — no subscription. More premium features are on the way. Need something specific? Write me: hello@mirror.app.

iOS?

Android first because that's what I carry. iOS when I can afford the developer account and the time. Email me to vote it up.

Can I backup my entries?

Yes. You can take an encrypted backup to your own Google Drive — and it can only be decrypted by you.

Why "Mirror"?

Because the only thing it does is reflect you back at yourself. No coaching, no nudging, no AI telling you to "stay positive." Just your own days, organized.

Take it.
Track your life.

Mirror is free, offline, and made by one person who uses it every single day. If that sounds like the journal you've been looking for — here's the link.
